Sharing and caring

First I´d like to welcome you to your blog. This is an opportunity for all of us to share our thoughts, experiencies and knowledge in the ELT field. By doing so we expect to grow professionally in such a way that our learners will benefit from every little step we take.

I would also like you to watch the following link to watch a video called "A vission of students today" and apart from the impact it might have on you I also hope it raises awarenees on the way young people see technology and what we as teachers can do in order to meet our learner´s needs.

It would be interesting to know if you have used technology in your classes and what the effect has been.

  1. Nowadays, technology is everywhere and it is almost impossible to live without it because most of common things (food, communication, studies, work, etc)are related to technology. However, this is a controversial topic as a result of its advantages and disadvantages. It depends on the point of view, in my personal opinion, many people need to change their way of thinking, and all of us need to become more autonomous and responsible at the moment of using and take advantage of the technology and everything it involves. This is a useful and unbelievable tool in order to achieve a lot of things. Young people are growing inside the technology but most of them are not using it appropriately, and of course, it is causing plenty of social problems..

  3. Technology takes part of most of my students' life. In spite of that, is not so much what I have done for implementing it in my classes. I use the video bean for projecting some slides or videos and the material I use in classes are made by scaning from some books or taken from the internet, and some times they listen to songs or listen activities in the stereo.
I know that there are many things to do, and I am oppening to those posiblities.

  4. That´s a good start Carlos. It demands from you a lot of time exploring different possibilities, then getting familiar and skilled with the tools, after that devoting reasonable time planning and once they are being used, constant supervission, support and on going evaluation.
