I used to think that making a video was something very difficult and demanding to do, but now I can say that it is not so difficult. The different possibilities of using them with your students is worth the effort. The short example you are about to watch comes from two students of an elementary English course. I can say that it will serve two purposes. One it is a very motivating tool for the students who see them, because it shows them that it is really possible to have a conversation in the target language. Secondly it can become a way of having students to take part in a speech event for the teacher and other students to see, that will reduce the time we spend on presentations in the classroom. I invite you to have a look at it and comment on other ways of taking full advantage of videos in the classroom or out of it.

The use of videos in the classroom can become a great way of learning and improving our daily work. I remember I had an English teacher at the university who recorded some activities in order for him and us (students) to check our performance in the oral exercises, at first it was hard but later we could realize about our strenghts and weakenesses without the teacher´s observations...Besides, teachers can analyze the real effectiveness of his exercises being a little more objective...

ReplyDeleteI do agree with you. Why was this activity hard for you at first?
